Typically, 6 to 8 sessions are recommended for optimal results, depending on hair type and treatment area.
What should I expect during a laser hair removal session?
During a session, you'll feel mild tingling as the laser targets hair follicles. Sessions are quick with minimal discomfort.
Are there any pre-treatment instructions I should follow?
- No sun/tanning beds for 2 weeks before.
- No self-tanners for 10–14 days before.
- Don’t wax, pluck, or thread for at least 3–4 weeks. Only shave.
- Shave the area up to 24 hours before your appointment.
- No lotions, creams, deodorant, or makeup on the treatment area the day of.
- Avoid exfoliants, retinol, acids, and acne meds on the area for a few days before.
- Tell us if you’re taking any new medications.
Are there any risks or side effects?
Diode Laser hair removal is generally safe when done by a trained professional. Some people may experience slight redness, mild swelling or a warm sensation in the treated area. This usually fades within a few hours.
Why must the skin be shaved beforehand?
Shaving allows the laser to reach the hair root without interference from surface hair. It helps avoid irritation and makes the treatment more effective. The best time to shave is the day before your appointment, but no longer than 24 hours ahead.
What is the difference between Diode laser hair removal and IPL?
Diode laser is a true laser and targets the hair follicle more precisely.
IPL is broad-spectrum light, not a laser, and is usually less focused.
For dark or coarse hair, diode laser is typically the stronger option for long-term reduction.
Does laser hair removal work on all skin types?
Diode laser can be used on many skin types with proper settings.
Darker hair usually responds best. Blonde, grey, white, and very light red hair may not respond well.
We assess your skin and hair type before treatment.
After a laser hair removal session, when does the hair fall out?
Hair usually starts to fall out about 5 to 14 days after your session. It may look like it's still growing, but it's actually pushing out of the follicle.
What cream should I use after a laser hair removal session?
After your session, it's best to use a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer like aloe vera gel or a hydrating cream such as CeraVe or Aquaphor. These help soothe the skin and reduce redness or irritation. Avoid any products with alcohol, acids, or strong scents for at least 24 to 48 hours.
